Barley is one of the oldest grain crops cultivated by man. Currently, barley grain is used for various purposes - food, fodder, technical.

Barley is grown for grain production. Barley protein contains all the essential amino acids, including the most deficient and most valuable - lysine and tryptophan. Barley grain is widely used as a concentrated feed (1 kg contains 1.27 feed units and 100 g of digestible protein) for animals of all kinds. The high content of hordein in barley grain helps to suppress the development of gram-positive bacteria, which has a beneficial effect on animal health.

Barley grain contains: protein - 7-15%, carbohydrates - 65%, fat - 2%, fiber - 5-5.5%, ash - 2.5-2.8%.
